Olive Picking

Here are pictures from the Olive picking. I will tell you more about Olives next week when we press them. For now, just enjoy the pictures.

When the center was built the prophet said that both inside and outside of the building it needed to be a teaching ground. Thus, we have a lot of different ways to teach us outside of the building. One of these ways is the 60 olive trees on campus.

The center has one tree that is 1200 years old. Luckily when we were picking I got to be in that tree. Interesting story about the tree. One time it died. Everyone was really sad because they had paid a lot of money to transplant it. When the gardener saw that it was dead he said "no it isn't." So, then he planted a new olive tree inside the old olive tree. The new tree revived the old tree and the old tree started to grow more branches and olives again. Wow!! It came back to life. So many things to be learned from that story. (Jacob 5, Atonement...)

Me in the old tree.

What a delightful day.
